Ubiquinol (QH) is the bioactive, directly available form of coenzyme Q10. In sports, QH is mainly discussed in connection with energy production in the mitochondria – and at the same time in the context of antioxidant cell protection. Because when training and everyday life become stressful, "cell pressure" increases: oxidative stress increases and regeneration becomes more important.

In short: Ubiquinol is the long-term basic support over weeks (better coping with stress & being ready again) rather than the 30-minute kick.

Many people use ubiquinol (QH) as a routine supplement because the approach is rather long-term (periods of exertion, training blocks) – not "30 minutes beforehand and then bam." We recommend taking it for at least two to three months for the ingredient to unfold its effect.

Both are related to coenzyme Q10 – the difference is the form. Coenzyme Q10 comes in two forms:

- Ubiquinone (oxidized), which is the conventional coenzyme Q10

- Ubiquinol/QH (reduced, bioactive).

While Q10 (ubiquinone) must first be converted into ubiquinol in the body, QH (ubiquinol) is already present in the directly usable form – suitable when training, everyday life and regeneration are all "pulling" simultaneously.

Especially during high stress and with advancing age, the conversion of Q10 to QH in the body can become less efficient. Ubiquinol (QH) is often chosen when the bioactive form is preferred. Good to know: Ubiquinol is the bioactive form of Q10. It can be used directly by the body. Q10 must first be converted into QH in the body. In practice, what is often more important is: the quality of the raw material and regular use. When it comes to QH, look for the branded raw material Kaneka Ubiquinol™, which stands for the highest quality and is 100% pure, natural ubiquinol from yeast fermentation.

For athletes, usually: daily with a meal (routine beats timing). If you want to take it "sport-related": with a meal before training is often practical – without a "fasting experiment," otherwise it's always recommended with breakfast.
